Vintage synthesizer Yamaha TX7 FM Expander (the module of DX7 keyboard) in Springfield, Manitoba for sale

$180

The TX7 is a sound module of the legendary Yamaha DX7 keyboard. It has the same 6-operator digital FM synth engine and can load thousands of DX7 programs available for a free download. Unlike its software emulations, this instrument has that warm and rich sound character from the 80's that derived from the imperfections of the DAC circuits of that time.
The DX/TX7 FM tone generation is based on multiple wave oscillators, modulating each other in various configurations grouped as 32 algorithms. The DX7 is well known for its electric piano, 80's bells, leads, pads and other "struck" and "plucked" sounds which emphasize complex attack transients. Phase modulation used in this synthesizer can generate a wide range of both imitative and purely synthetic sounds and effects.
The DX/TX7 is 16-voice polyphonic and monotimbral. Editing and real time control can be achieved via MIDI: using a DX7 keyboard, the PR-7 programmer, fader boxes or a dedicated computer software.
Yamaha DX7 / TX7 pioneered the era of digital synthesizers and remained the most popular synthesizer for two decades. It was used by numerous artists and producers including Crystal Method, Kraftwerk, Underworld, Orbital, BT, Talking Heads, Brian Eno, Tony Banks, Mike Lindup of Level 42, Jan Hammer, Roger Hodgson, Teddy Riley, Brian Eno, T Lavitz of the Dregs, Sir George Martin, Supertramp, Phil Collins, Stevie Wonder, Daryl Hall, Steve Winwood, Scritti Politti, Babyface, Peter-John Vettese, Depeche Mode, D:Ream, Les Rhytmes Digital, Front 242, U2, A-Ha, Enya, The Cure, Astral Projection, Fluke, Kitaro, Vangelis, Elton John, James Horner, Toto, Donald Fagen, Michael McDonald, Chick Corea, Level 42, Queen, Yes, Michael Boddicker, Julian Lennon, Jean-Michel Jarre, Sneaker Pimps, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Greg Phillanganes, Jerry Goldsmith, Jimmy Edgar, Beastie Boys, Stabbing Westward and Herbie Hancock to name a few.
The synth is very reliable, still functioning well over 30 years later.
